Cranny is a quiet little village located in scenic west Clare countryside about halfway between Ennis and Kilrush. The many quiet country lanes in the area are ideal for walking and cycling! Angling is possible in the little stream nearby the house, at Gortglass (10 mins away) and other lakes and last but not least at the shores of the Shannon.
The Shannon Estuary Way is a spectacular and unspoiled riverside destination off the Wild Atlantic Way. This area of remarkable beauty is where the Serene Shannon flows into the wild waters of the Mighty Atlantic. The river connects the peoples of Clare to Limerick and Kerry and this new 207km-long loop drive will bring you through all three counties in one day!
The sights in the west of Clare - at the Cliffs of Moher, the Atlantic beaches, Ennis with its shopping streets as well as the market town of Kilrush - are an easy driving distance. Kilrush has a fine marina, start point for dolphin watching tours and the boats to historic Scattery Island. The Killimer Shannon Car Ferry is just 30 minutes away, making it easy to explore the neighbouring counties of Limerick and Kerry.
